From the bushes outside of the Cat Ranch, I can now confirm that Marc Maron is ending his long-running WTF podcast to make room in his garage for his 1988 El Camino. Maron confirmed all of this on the latest episode of WTF.
“That damn thing has been parked on my lawn for the last 16 years,” Maron said before losing focus and sharing an anecdote about meditation. “I mean, looking around this garage right now, there’s a lot of junk in here, but cleaning out this podcast equipment should make enough room for the ‘Mino. I'm just looking forward to getting it off the grass and shutting my damn neighbors up.”
Maron then took some time to reflect on all the good times he has had in the garage.
“What The Fuckaroos, where has the time gone? We had Obama in this garage,” Maron said before wondering aloud whatever came of his long-lost cat, Boomer. “The Robin Williams episode of the show is in the Library of Congress. If you ever told me there would be a podcast in the Library of Congress, let alone one of mine, I would have thought you were smoking a bad strain of weed.”
Already anticipating all the questions, Maron got into what he would be doing once the podcast officially comes to an end.
“I’ll have all the time in the world,” Maron said, as he strummed his guitar. “ I’ll play guitar, try out some new vegan recipes, and maybe bully Ted Serandos into making a fourth season of GLOW.”
At press time Boomer had returned to the garage after being MIA for the last 16 years.
Maron is repped by Avalon Management and IAG. The bush I hid in for this story was a Sword Fern that cut up my leg.
